StartUps´s situation in Chile

Nowadays, in Chile, the smallest companies, fund their R&D through state grants that do not contribute in their technological development, which is absolutely insufficient, considering the huge investments that the biomedicine and renewable energies industries require. Furthermore, the more advanced stages need relevant resources to purchase supplies, hire services and perform essays abroad. Even Though there are many R+D centers at universities and foundations, only a few of these efforts result into successful companies.

On the other hand, there is little access to information, since there is a lack of knowledge regarding investment best practices, development management, and productive processes. That is why it is required to enforce the information mechanisms so startups reduce the failure possibility
